metal recycle-ery (Xi'an)

view from the crane operator's car

cubes and metal hair

While wandering around the Eastern part of Xi'an looking at some graffiti, my friend and I sneaked (really just walked) into what appeared to be some type of airplane hanger. There was a giant moving mechanical arm with a magnet at the end for picking up metal stuff (much like the 25 cent arcade scam for stuffed animals but the guy driving this won every time). There were also these amazing and heavy cubes of scraps and coils of wire the guy called "metal hair."

The people working there were really cool there and invited us to sit in their office. They asked us if we were spies but clearly, if we were spies we'd be 2 of the worst.
